“ Want a big delicious breakfast!? Try out this place. Our server was so informative, friendly and efficient. Our breakfast choices were so good. Knocked one point off because we asked for crispy bacon abd it wasn't crispy... but we ate it. The pancakes were the huge, fluffy and just what I was craving. Every time we visit this is one place we have to visit! Oh.. and the coffee is perfect.. strong, hot and delicious. ”
“ Been a place for us to go every Christmas morning. Around 8am, the place was reasonably empty and the wait staff was friendly and in great spirits. Food was prompt and delicious as always. They likely have a condensed menu for the holidays but has all the good choices. Interior decor is fun and would entertain kids, just in case you have to wait for your table. update from Jan 2025. The place was reasonably busy on a saturday morning, food was good with decent menu choices. The service seemed to lack enthusiasm. The waitress seemed rushed at one point saying she dosent have any spoons. Understandable, but not a sign of a good service. Portions were huge as always. ”
“ This is one of my favorite places to go eat, I always get great service from friendly staff and it's never too crowded or busy. The menu has a great variety to choose from at lower prices than many other restaurants so it was very affordable. The food is always delicious! They have many cute decorations of bears and other items that make you feel like you are out in the woods on a camping trip. I specifically liked how kid friendly it was having so much to look at while waiting for food either in the gift shop area or even a kids corner with toys to keep them busy! Such a fun experience for the whole family! ”
“ I recently dined at Black Bear Diner in Boise, and it was quite the experience! The freshly squeezed orange juice was absolutely amazing—definitely a must-try. The biscuits and gravy were good but somewhat average, lacking that special touch I was hoping for. However, the pancakes were a real highlight! They were incredibly fluffy and flaky, making them a delightful addition to the meal. And I have to say, the homemade sausage patties were a hit! They had a fantastic flavor that complemented the rest of the meal perfectly. Overall, Black Bear Diner is a great spot for a hearty breakfast. I definitely recommend trying the orange juice, pancakes, and sausage patties if you get the chance! ”
“ Great Dinner, the prices were good. The food came out fast. Great history of how they came to be. ”
“ I am happy to complement the service I and my sister received today at Black Bear Diner. As we entered, the hostess, whose name I didn't catch was super friendly and welcoming as she seated us. As is often the case, the people providing the service in any restaurant are primarily responsible for my first impression of the place. Our server, Andree, was promptly at our table to take our drinks order. Her smile was genuine as she laughed at my chatty sisters jokes, and she kept the coffee in our cups topped off throughout our meal. In fact, she was so attentive she noticed I had left my jacket at the table, and brought it to me...with a smile... as we were leaving. Thank you so much, Andree. PS: The food was delicious too. ”
“ We had breakfast here, and overall, it was a good experience. The food was tasty, although it was served a bit cold, which was a slight disappointment. Despite this, the flavors were enjoyable, and the menu had a nice variety to choose from, making it worth the visit. The service, however, truly stood out. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, ensuring we felt welcome throughout our time there. Although we had to wait a little longer than expected, their positive attitude and professionalism made up for it. It was a pleasant start to the day, and we would consider coming back. ”
“ We were traveling through Boise, Idaho and stopped at Black Bear Diner at 1731 Entertainment Ave. Boise, ID 83709 and were greeted warmly & served by Lauren & Amanda, who were warm, friendly, and their service to us was over the top! The food was excellent! We enjoyed the Blackened Salmon and a Veggie Omelette. Everything was cooked to our requests and was one of the best meals we have experienced. Thank you LAUREN & AMANDA for your overboard friendliness and outstanding service to us. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and your excellent service to us! What a special place to to your both for going over and going overboard with your excellent service to us! ”
